Mayor Tom Barrett hosts the 10th Annual Milwaukee Fatherhood Summit. The theme of the Summit is “Celebrating 10 Years of Building Better Fathers and Families.” The free, public event will bring together a wide array of groups, agencies, businesses and individuals to provide the resources needed to build stronger fathers.

Fall Leaf Collection Oct. 1 - Nov. 15 

Fall Leaf Collection Oct. 1 - Nov. 25

City of Milwaukee residents may start raking leaves into the curb lanes starting October 1st. City of Milwaukee Department of Public Works (DPW) Sanitation crews will begin collecting the leaves on October 12th.  Leaf collection will end on November 25th.

The last day to request a special pick-up for brush is November 30th. Remember, leaves and brush, along with other yard waste, are banned from landfills and must not be placed in garbage or recycling carts.

If you are interested in home ownership you may want to consider the great opportunities available under the Homebuyer Assistance Program which is being offered as a part of Mayor Tom Barrett’s Strong Neighborhoods Plan.

Nominate 2015 City/County Christmas Tree

The City of Milwaukee’s Department of Public Works is now accepting nominations for a tree to serve as the 2015 City/County Christmas tree to be displayed in Red Arrow Park in downtown Milwaukee. Residents who wish to have their tree considered should contact the City of Milwaukee at 286- CITY (2489) by Monday, October 19, 2015.

Official Trick or Treat hours in the City of Milwaukee will be held on Saturday, Oct. 31 from 1-4 pm.
Residents are reminded to keep children safe during Trick or Treat. Get safety tips from your police and fire departments and let's make Halloween safe and more enjoyable for everyone.

Mayor Barrett's 2016 Budget Address

Mayor Tom Barrett presented his 2016 proposed executive budget that gives Milwaukee residents needed relief and does not cut City services to the Common Council on Tuesday, September 22, at City Hall. Among the highlights of this year’s budget are an emphasis on public safety, economic security for residents, job and neighborhood development, core infrastructure investment and solid fiscal management.
